A: kinda because I suddenly thought, "wouldn't this be a nice as an early celebration for touhou 13?"
Q: so what is gonna become of the forum/server?
A: The server is gonna be left up for those who wanna battle and the forum is gonna be changed into a forum dedicated to fans for the whole touhou series, fan games and all!
